Forrest Fenn was a guest on the television program, Painting Taos, which aired on KNME-TV on Feb 05, 2010. Painting Taos explored the origin and experience of the Taos Society of Artists, and can be seen here:

As KNME-TV is a member of the Public Broadcasting System (PBS), a non-commercial entity, I wondered if it would be possible to obtain the raw footage of Forrest’s interview for this program.

It turns out that the footage is part of the New Mexico Public Media (NMPM) Collection of over 8,000 public radio and television programs, related interviews and footage, documenting New Mexico’s social, political, artistic, and cultural landscape.

The collection is available online, to residents of the United States, at the website of the American Archive of Public Broadcasting (AAPB). Residents of other countries need to explore alternate access methods.

I am sharing links to the full, raw footage of Fenn, which comprises over 3 hours of material:

Interview 1 of 3 — Forrest talks at length about the history of Taos and its celebrated artists.

Interview 2 of 3 — Forrest discusses related photographs and manuscripts from his personal collection.

Interview 3 of 3 — Additional interview, plus B-roll footage of some of the artifacts decorating Forrest’s den.

It’s wonderful to have this extended view of Forrest, rather than just the tidbits that made their way into the Painting Taos broadcast. He’s engaging as ever here.

I’m sharing this not because there are any hints to The Thrill of The Chase, but because I think searchers miss Forrest and will enjoy seeing it.
